As most of you very well know, I’m a huge fan of neutrals and basics. The older I get, the more focused I am on purchasing simple, quality pieces that can be given an interesting accessory to spruce up the look, if necessary. This ensures that the item won’t go out of style, that I’ll have to clean out my closet less, and most importantly, I won’t be throwing money out the window.
With Valentine’s Day just a few weeks away, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect dress that suits my style (while red is a beautiful color, it’s not a color I gravitate towards). I came across this two piece (in cream) that I really love, and it’s a serious consideration come February 14th. Paired with my fuschia clutch that sadly, is so old and a lucky Marshall’s find, it still remains neutral and in my comfort zone, while still adding a bit of playfulness.
I’ve also paired this outfit with my favorite Stella McCartney suede crossbody that’s in a beautiful shade of gray-ish blue. Just in case a splash of color isn’t your thing or doesn’t go with the night you have planned. I added a pair of subtle earrings with some blue hues to complete the muted down look.
