One thing I love about Mondays is the typical cliche answer of a new, fresh week.  A clean slate.  But more than that, it’s a chance to set intentions for not only the day ahead, but the entire week.  The very first thing I do upon waking up is light the candles throughout my home.  Nope, it’s not coffee. It’s candles ;)  Though you better believe a triple espresso is a very, very close second. The scents and the practice of walking around my place and lighting each candle one by one immediately sets the tone for how I’ve chosen to live my life the past year:

Calmly. Slowly. Simply. Thoughtfully.

The only negative to this deep love and appreciation for wax in a jar is the price point considering how much I use them. I generally go through candles each month, so while I’d love to make my own, it’s not something that sounds particularly relaxing to me in this moment. So for now – I happily support the companies that create candles that bring me comfort and warm good vibes. So I’ve rounded up my top 7, and given you the scoop as to why I love them as much as I do.

P.F. Candle Co.  – I love this candle not only for the scent, but for the way it looks as well.  Whenever I see the amber glass and the simple label, I immediately get transported to a cozy cabin in the woods. Cozy is whats up with this brand, and this is my favorite scent by far. I usually keep it on my end table next to my bed as photographed above, and I’ve also heard really great things about this scent.

Homesick Candles – This candle was gifted to me a while back right before they went big (they were recently featured in Vogue!) I was obsessed with the concept, and thought it was such a brilliant idea and makes for the perfect gift. Since I was living in Florida at the time and missing Chicago so much, I received the Illinois candle which is infused with honeysuckle, lavender, white flower, violets (the state flower of Illinois), and some vanilla and lemon. Yum.

Diptyque – Not only are these the best candles to recycle and use for your makeup brushes or little floral/greenery arrangements as you’ve no doubt seen on Pinterest time and time again, but the smell is insane. It’s a little high up there on the price point, but well worth it. The burn is slower, too, so I get a lot out of this candle. This one is my favorite, but this comes in a close second.

Anthropologie – This lagoon candle is ah-mazing. The design is gorgeous and the smell is out of this world. Anthropologie is pretty strong in the candle game, but this would without a doubt be my number one recommendation amongst their wide variety.

Urban Collection – Okay so it’s quite obvious by now my love for anything marble ;) but aside from the fact that this jar is killer, the scent feels like a cozy boyfriend. I also love that it’s a bit more masculine and that it has a double wick.  I reuse these jars all around my home whether it’s a catch-all dish, a change collector, or paperclips in my office.

Basalt – I spent a bit more on this candle than I usually would (aside from my Diptyque) but the scent almost knocked me over in the best way, and the branding is so lovely. I only burn this a couple times a week because I want it to last as long as possible, but I can’t recommend this brand and this scent enough.

Blythe & Flint – Another super cozy brand that smells insane.  I have two of these candles in my home at all times (this one and this one) and I love that although they’re under the same brand, they have two completely different looks.  They both live in my living room, and compliment each other so well when burning simultaneously.

Would love to hear any recommendations that you might have for candles worth trying!
