We’re almost to the weekend. This week has strictly been about getting organized and caught up on life after my Joshua Tree photo retreat, and I’m happy to report I’m just about there. (though you can’t see our kitchen counter due to paper work and I haven’t been able to sit at my desk in the office for weeks buuuut, I’ll get to it. I will! ;)
We’re laying low this weekend and my mom is coming down from the Gulf on Sunday to keep me company while every one else does Superbowl things (I just really don’t have an interest this year, sadly) So all in all – this weekend is about relaxing and making no real commitments.
Onto the point of this post: I’ve been having a huge thing for monochrome styling lately.
a photograph or picture developed or executed in black and white or in varying tones of only one color.
I’d say aside from my denim on white obsession that comes in a close second, it’s really the only way I’ve been dressing these days. White on white, black on black, grey on grey, or as you’ll see today.. blue on blue! I think it has such a calming affect, and I love that the shades don’t have to be a perfect match. I also wanted to share this post because I don’t know about you, but the t-shirt dress is a tricky style to pull off. (at least for me and my actually-there hips) I tend to look like a tent rather than a woman, and the trick for me has been to tie something around my waist – more specifically, a thin denim shirt. Not only does it add a pop of color and stay true to the monochrome style I’m going for, but it accentuates my smaller waist line and makes me feel more feminine while still being super comfortable.
