Embracing The Slow Season

Thoughts on Unwinding - The Calm Collective

I’m approaching the part of my busy season where I start to notice that my breathing patterns are changing.  My mood as well.  My vision, my priorities, my attitude towards the things around me. Things are beginning to slow down – well, kind of ;)   I’m sort of in pinch me mode, because at the end of my busiest season last year, I promised myself I would balance more.  I would balance my personal life with my work life. I would balance my wedding inquiries with my portrait inquiries. Something I love so (so) much.  This year, I did just that. 14 weddings, and over 50 portrait sessions for this year, and my heart is so full.  This was the perfect amount of work to keep me feeling refreshed and inspired. Not to mention, I have been awarded the most amazing clients in the ENTIRE world. So thank you, to all of you, for making my life that much more beautiful and fulfilled.

As I start to unwind with one more wedding this month (my last one being in the beginning of December) and a busy month of portraits, I have so much to look forward to.  I will be taking a trip with my best, best friends to the shores of New Hampshire where cozy sweaters, hot tubbing, crackling fires and wine are the regular occurrences. I bought a one way ticket to be with my parents in Florida for the holidays, with no exact return date in mind (isn’t that so lovely?)  I will have so much time to cuddle my dad – to have conversations with him that revolve around his never-failing advice, warm words, perfect hugs.. these are the moments that matter most in my life.  And I’m so happy to say that I’m beginning to unwind.

It’s a beautiful thing.
