Some Intentional Spring Purchases that I’m Loving

Happy Spring! The other day was the first day in a really long time (since I moved in to my place back in September) that I was able to actually enjoy my patio and stretch out on the sofa and get a little Vitamin D while I worked. It completely transformed my mood – isn’t it wild what a little sunlight can do? (that and a workout)

I haven’t really done much in way of spring cleaning per se, but I suppose that’s one of the perks of being a regular purger and always simplifying. Not just in the spring ;) I did however recently purchase some new items with intention (meaning when I found something that I needed / wanted to buy, I sat on it for a while before pulling the trigger) So I thought I’d share some of them with you!

PS: Listen to Episode #33 on the Podcast: Decluttering My Life From the Inside Out

I’ll be sharing recent books that I’ve read (I’ve been going to my library like crazy, but have actually bought some of the books I’ve checked out because I knew I’d want to read them again or I want to underline/make notes in them.. the only con about library books), a few clothing items that I’ve bought, some beauty products I’m trying out or bought more of, and a few miscellaneous items.

So let’s jump in!

My Intentional Spring Purchases Worth Sharing

Books

Below are some recent books that I’ve read and plan on re-reading throughout spring.

The Soul of Money

I’m all about finance books.. as you guys know, but I’ve recently fallen in love with reading finance books that are partnered up with our subconscious mind. A lot of patterns with money stem from childhood or limiting beliefs, and this book is a major wake up call.

To Shake The Sleeping Self

Just, perfect. I love the way that Jedidiah writes.. and his story is absolutely incredible. A must read.

Becoming

I have no words. She is an amazing, magnetic human.

The Seven Healthy Relationship Secrets

I heard about this book on a podcast, and I love all of his other books, so I thought I’d give it a whirl. While I’m not looking for a relationship at the moment, it still felt good to read and soak in the knowledge about how to create and nurture them. Plus it can absolutely apply to platonic relationships as well (as well as the one with yourself)

Be Here Now

This one is not for the faint of heart, as it’s written by Baba Ram Dass (an incredibly guru). I’ve learned a lot about him from my Kundalini yoga classes, and I’m so fascinated by his mind. There’s a really beautiful (quick – only 30 minutes) documentary called Going Home that I can’t recommend enough. It’ll leave you feeling warm, euphoric and just.. joyful. He’s such a light.

Rich Bitch

I haven’t read this yet but I just ordered it and I can’t wait. I heard about Nicole (the author) after listening to The Almost 30 Podcast and I loved her playful (yet no BS) approach to money and finances. While I love reading about subconscious money patterns (as I mentioned above), I also respond well to playful banter when someone is trying to explain something dense, so I can’t wait to dive in to this.

slip on gray mulesClothes

While I decided to let go of doing a specific capsule this season (not for good.. just seeing how it feels to be more flexible), I’m still being super intentional about what goes in my closet and on my body. I’m still gravitating heavily towards whites and neutrals, and have been playing around with fun earrings to shake things up a bit. Here are a few of my recent buys:

Slip on Mules

I live in shoes like this, and have given up on the fact that I’m just not a heels girl – unless Im going to a wedding or something of that nature. When I purchased these, I didn’t know what I’d be getting.. especially with such decent price tag. But I love them.

Cotton V-Neck Tank

A staple piece that’s been in heavy rotation. I’ve been pairing it with my Levi’s and white mules (mentioned above), and some statement earrings for a classic, simple look.

White Two-Piece Linen Top & Pants

I love this two piece so much, it’s like wearing pajamas. It runs big, so make sure to size down. And for those of you who are on the bigger chested side like me, you’ll want this bra.

Rattan Dangle Earrings

Simple, neutral earrings that go with anything. Plus they’re super light weight. I’m into all things wicker and natural texture, so these were a must have for me.

Black and White Peplum Tank

I’ve come to realize that this is probably the most flattering look for me since I’m fairly curvy. I love this tank because a) you don’t have to wear a bra (you can, but there’s plenty of support), and b) you can dress it up or dress it down.

Scalloped Sweatshirt

I loved the scalloped detail of this sweatshirt, allowing it to be super casual with yoga pants, or a more put together look with jeans and slip on mules.

Dangled Hoop Earrings

I was sold on the gold detail of these earrings, and they look amazing on. A total steal for the price tag.

White off the shoulder top

A favorite in my closet that I’ll be wearing throughout summer. It’s not heavy on the crop, so don’t worry.

Striped Maxi Dress

I’m not a huge stripped person, but for some reason I just fell in love with this dress (especially the back). Plus, pockets! You just can’t go wrong.

Beauty

As you all know, I’m such a fan of beauty products (the cleaner, the better). But I’m also coming to the realization that less really is more. So I’m starting to lean in to having my must-have, regular go-to products on hand.. and practicing not being so impulsive when it comes to trying the latest and greatest. (It’s so hard!)

PS: check out my updated morning skincare routine post here.

This Vitamin C serum (with 2% retinol)

I’ve been using this for a couple of months and just restocked. I love the smell, and it’s so light weight. My skin just drinks it up.

Gua Sha Board Bar

I bought this impulsively (just being honest here), and it sat underneath my sink for a couple of weeks because I was like.. I don’t understand. Then, I did a photoshoot for my acupuncturist’s brand, and she taught me how to use it properly and all of it’s benefits! (It’s helps to move chi and blood flow throughout the face), so now I use it regularly and honestly.. it’s pretty therapeutic.

This body oil

A forever favorite. Just stocked up on this again and it’s one of my favorite parts about my morning and evening routine.

Whish Dew Mask

This stuff smells so, so good and literally feels like I just gave my skin a tall drink of water. While it’s a mask that you can rinse off, I usually end up leaving it on my face all day. The bonus is that it’s completely safe and free of any and all harmful chemicals. Win/win.

four sigmatic mocha packets

Miscellaneous

Four Sigmatic Mocha

This is heaven in a cup, minus the jitters. Have you guys tried Four Sigmatic products yet? I’m such a fan and while they’re a bit pricey, I don’t drink them every day (maybe 2x a week?) This one is by far my favorite.

This amazing bedtime tea

All I can say is be near your pillow when you take your first few sips.. because this stuff works. Along with CBD, this has become an essential part of my bedtime routine. I drink it while I read, and I’m generally out like a light in 10 minutes.

This CBD vaporizer

Speaking of CBD, I just got this vaporizer that has pods of 150mg of CBD, and I can’t wait to try it. CBD for me has been a game changer when in comes to feeling anxious (it occurs for me mostly in the winter (slower work months with photography/my dad’s passing anniversary, the Holidays), and again in mid-summer around my dad’s birthday/Father’s Day) and all I can say is that CBD has played a huge role in allowing me to breathe and take heart that all is well.

This floor pillow

This sat in my cart for a super long time, but I just kept eyeing it. Maybe it has to do with my intense love of anything wicker right now, but it’s been the perfect meditation pillow for when I want to do sitting meditations, or when I’m podcasting. Plus, she’s pretty ;)

This laptop case

I felt like this was worth sharing because it’s the best laptop case that I’ve ever had. It has SO much padding around it, yet it doesn’t feel or look bulky. It’s super sleek, and I have the light gray color which is really minimal. If you’re in the market for one, try this.
